“The most important thing is that I’m still dreaming”.

Jouhayna was one of ten refugee women who took part in Makani’s project ‘Film For Freedom’, which brought the unheard voices of Syrian refugee women living in Lebanon to the media as citizen journalists through a series of feminist film making workshops. Putting the skills that she learnt during these workshops into practice, Jouhayna made a beautiful film about overcoming conservative traditions, based on her own story of transformation. A story of craft, community and courage which you can watch here.
